|The Fabulous 50's, the 52nd CONSECUTIVE Annual Show of the Garden City Chorus is now history! We can report that "History was Made", too! For the first time in the history of the Augusta Chapter, we held our Annual Show in North Augusta, SC. The wonderful Wesley Center of Grace United Methodist Church served as our venue.
Every time one attempts something new, there are a lot of unknowns. We went into this venue with confidence that it would meet our needs; that a "show atmosphere" could be maintained (in keeping with our show history); that our regular patrons would be open to the change; and finally, that the move to North Augusta would better serve our South Carolina Patrons. We learned a lot, and the concensus is that we met each and every goal! Attendance set a record in recent history. With over 500 people in attendance, we recall that those numbers have not been achieved since the mid 1980's!
We were proud to have 4 singers performing on stage with us for the first time! Our local Chapter Quartets performed well, our guests, the Harmony River Chorus of Sweet Adelines, International, were an added treat, and our Master of Ceremonies, Bill Karp, added so much to the show, and to the mood of "the fifties".
A special thanks to our AWESOME Featured act, the award winning quartet, TNS! Thanks, Dusty, David, Ryan, and Rick! You really made our 52nd Annual Show special, and you were a SENSATIONAL HIT with our audience!
So, now the members of the Garden City Chorus move on into preparations for our busy Christmas Season. We are currently taking bookings for the season. Our calendar fills quickly, so contact us soon to book the chorus for your annual Christmas/Holiday function. We are favorites at corporate parties, executive dinners, Holiday open houses, church Christmas dinners and parties, and retirement center Christmas functions!
Thanksgiving is not far away, and the men of The Garden City Chorus hope you have a great time with family and friends as we take time to pause and be thankful for all we have.
Keep the Whole World Singing!
