Praises and Reviews

To the men of the Garden City Chorus,

It's easy to say "thank you"--What's difficult to do is express the many special thoughts behind our thanks to you.  Everyone in the RECing Crew and the Sweet Celebrations Committee would like to "Thank you" for helping make our event a success.

Garden City Chorus,

Your were terrific.  Thank you for blessing us with your voices.  I received praises from many people about how wonderful your performance was.  You now have more fans!

Our school is grateful that you gave of your time to support our music program.

Love and God Bless,

SPOTLIGHT ON HARMONY
September 26, 2009, 2PM and 7:30PM
Hi John:

Just wanted to shoot you a quick email to underscore the super time
our AVP members had on your Garden City Celebration show yesterday.
What a fantastic talent line up.  If I had to  choose a segment that
sent chills down my backbone, I would have to to select the "combined
chorus finale.....what a blast!

As a final note, I hope someone was taking pictures and can write a
brief article for the Rebel Rouser and the new Chapter Newsletter (the
Dixie Town Crier - send all to Steve Dorn).  That would be great free
ink for the chapter and for Augusta.

See you in Chattanooga at the House of Delegates meeting - and beyond.

Harry / John…

Please accept a heartfelt “thanks” from AVP.  We had a blast.  Everything worked to plan, and nothing was overlooked.  The bus service was great and appreciated.  Both drivers enjoyed themselves and were thankful for being included in the meals and show.

This may we be the smoothest gig we have ever done.  Well done!

Kiwanis Club of Augusta

December 22, 2008

It was the Monday before Christmas and all through St. Paul’s, Kiwanis had gathered to see the decked halls – and share a great lunch and a toast or two. Everyone was in a festive mood and we had lots of guests – even too many to recognize. Traditionally, we can bring our spouse or guests to enjoy our Christmas program and we had a room full.

President Jatho welcomed everyone and blessed our meal. Sybil Surrett took home the attendance prize and several lucky people took home the poinsettia on their table. Our program featured the Garden City Chorus, members of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Lowell Dorn sings with that group – tenor, as near as I could tell.

John,

Once again, let me tell you how much we enjoyed your visit to The Pinnacle Club on Saturday evening.  I think everyone enjoyed hearing and seeing you...and, I know that our hosts, Leo and Susan, did!  You did an outstanding job and the commentary, musical selections and performance time were right on point.  We appreciate you taking time from your busy schedule to be a part of our evening!  Please relay to all the attending members how much we enjoyed your performance.

Again, I apologize for your long wait.  But, as you said, I do think that we all enjoyed it more since we were able to concentrate on watching you instead of dividing our time between you and a meal!  (Glad that you insisted on waiting.)

We wish all of you well during the holiday season!

Saint Valentine's Day, February 2007

To: Quartets of the Garden City Chorus

Dear Gifted Gentlemen of Song:

Thank you for offering to share your gifts of talent and beautiful voices, with men fortunate enough to have the affections of our special lady, by serenading her, in person, on Valentine’s Day. Not only did the special attention in song surprise my wife, but she said. “My face turned red, but I loved it. You’re just a bundle of surprises, aren’t you?” Since the other ladies in her office enjoyed your singing, too, it was the highlight of the workday and the comments made her feel lucky to have me. The joy endures, as the rose and card help her recall the experience, especially when she got home that night. What a great idea – beautiful music does stir emotions.

One grateful husband,

W.E.K.

Hi John,
The chorus was WONDERFUL Sunday morning.  Thank you so very much for coming and sharing in our service.  Isn't it cool how you can take such diverse individuals and voices and make them sound great together?!  Please accept our modest donation to your group for something fun. Come back any time!
